NOROÎT SAILING CLUB, ORGANISER AND HOSTING CLUB

In 1965, Cherrueix witnessed Dr. Revert’s first machine which gave birth to the Sailing Club. These sandyachts were the famous BB and Losange.

In 1969, the club developped very quickly with the organisation of the 7th European Championships. This event had a strong echo thanks to the local newspapers and the daily broadcast of the ORTF (the former French broadcasting services).

Since 2000, the Noroît Sailing Club and the local authorities have been greatly investing to improve their welcoming capacities. They have even planned the building of a hosting centre with 70 beds. To give it an additional boost, the Club decided to organize this event. Together with the French Federation of Sandyachting, this new initiative gathers many challenges.

Noroît Sailing Club is keen to promote this sand shore which is so well adapted to the practice of sandyachting.
