VOLUNTEERS (BENEVOLES) PROGRAMME

2012 Wordlwide Sandyachting Championships are almost on our doorstep !

As you know, the event will take place from 8 to 15 July 2012 right in the heart of the Bay of the Mont Saint-Michel, in the village of Cherrueix.

The success of any event is based on the performance and achievements of its volunteers (bénévoles). Through their support and implication, they play a very important role, equally as important as the runners and drivers’. Without their commitment and enthusiasm, it would not be possible to organize such an event.

Whether they work in the media center, welcome people, provide information concerning safety and security, or may they drive people around or be race assistants, volunteers (bénévoles) are playing an essential part in the organization of a worldwide event. Their mission is to embody the spirit of the international competition through their kindness with the various public and their availability.

Many of you have already shown in interest in becoming volunteers (bénévoles) for 2012 Wordlwide Sandyachting Championships.

You can complete your request by filling in the Application Form and sending it back to the Organisation Committe by email on or by post to Mondial 2012 de Char à Voile – Noroît Club – 1 rue de la plage – 35120 Cherrueix, France by 15 February 2012.

However, for volunteers (bénévoles) with specific skills in competition, medical field, anti-doping fight, safety and security, translating, etc., please send us your Volunteer Application Form as soon possible – we would like to receive it by end 2011.

Upon receipt of your application, individual interviews will be held by telephone or face-to-face. Based on your skills and expertise, responsibilities will be granted by the Organisation Committee and organized according to your motivations, experience, know-how and availability. You will then be granted a referent manager and given a job profile and a timetable of your working slots.

About 150 volunteers (bénévoles) will be necessary for the proper unfolding of the event, each one of them in their respective field of activity. Jean-Claude Josse, President of the Organisation Committee of 2012 Worldwide Sandyachting Championships has said: « Being a volunteer (bénévole) during the Championships will be a gratifying experience both from a personal and a social point of view, no matter if you are used to it or not. We would very much like graduates and leaders, inhabitants from the Dol country, the malouine area, Brittany and Normandy, people who share the same values as competitors and racers, in particular motivation, commitment and dedication, and with the best team spirit, apply. Whatever your role, you will help welcoming the public and showing them what France and Brittany have to offer.
